For this week's Fan Friday, we dive into a pivotal moment in The Secret Seal series with the question, "Why did Theodore pressure Rinhoffe into showing his true character? Could he not have waited?" The answer is both complex and simple at its core.

Let’s start with a simple trivia question:

Theodore, upon discovering Rinhoffe's origins in Sakaria, realized the magnitude of the situation. Sakaria, a land thought to be extinct, posed a significant threat to the balance of power in the CIC (Central Imperial Council). Any surviving member of Sakaria would be seen as an anomaly, a relic of a forgotten people—and that was dangerous. The CIC would act swiftly, executing any Sakarian on sight to prevent potential unrest and a power struggle within the empire. Theodore, understanding the gravity of this, knew that Rinhoffe’s exposure had to happen on Theodore’s terms and not the CIC’s. By pressuring him, Theodore aimed to bring the truth to light before the CIC could find out and exploit the situation, possibly turning Rinhoffe into a pawn in their dangerous game.

This confrontation wasn't just about Rinhoffe’s past; it was about protecting the greater good and keeping power out of the wrong hands. If the government had learned about a living Sakarian, it could have triggered a ripple effect, resulting in political chaos, assassinations, or worse—a total collapse of the order that Theodore had fought so hard to protect. The urgency came from the knowledge that once the CIC discovered Rinhoffe's heritage, they would move quickly to eliminate him or manipulate his existence for their own gain. Waiting wasn't an option.
